A bill for an act
relating to naturopathy; creating a working group.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin The commissioner of health shall name representatives to a working group to
discuss the scope of practice of traditional or lay naturopaths. The working group shall be
composed of members representing complementary and alternative health care providers
who practice under Minnesota Statutes, chapter 146A, registered naturopaths, and
representatives of health care professions, such as physicians, osteopaths, chiropractors,
and registered nurses. There shall be no compensation provided to members of the
working group. No costs shall be incurred by the Department of Health in naming
representatives to the working group. The working group shall report its findings and
recommendations to the house finance committee with jurisdiction over Department
of Health programs by January 15, 2010.
