  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to crime; requiring law enforcement agencies 
  1.3             to report to schools when they have probable cause to 
  1.4             believe a student has committed an underage drinking 
  1.5             and driving violation; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.6             1998, section 121A.28. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 121A.28, is 
  1.9   amended to read: 
  1.10     121A.28 [LAW ENFORCEMENT RECORDS.] 
  1.11     A law enforcement agency shall provide notice of any drug 
  1.12  incident occurring within the agency's jurisdiction, in which 
  1.13  the agency has probable cause to believe a student violated 
  1.14  section 152.021, 152.022, 152.023, 152.024, 152.025, 152.027, 
  1.15  152.097, 169.121, 169.1218, or 340A.503, subdivision 1, 2, or 
  1.16  3.  The notice shall be in writing and shall be provided, within 
  1.17  two weeks after an incident occurs, to the chemical abuse 
  1.18  preassessment team in the school where the student is enrolled.
