A bill for an act
relating to health; appropriating money for local public health emergency
preparedness and response capabilities.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; LOCAL AND TRIBAL PUBLIC HEALTH
EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS AND RESPONSE.

new text begin (a) $9,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of health to be distributed to local and Tribal public health organizations for
emergency preparedness and response capabilities. Ninety percent of this appropriation
must be distributed to local and Tribal public health organizations. Ten percent of this
appropriation may be used by the Department of Health for administrative costs.

Control and Prevention's issued report: Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response
Capabilities: National Standards for State, Local, Tribal, and Territorial Public Health.
