A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money to build and invest in
economic structures that educate, mobilize, and equip Black women with the
necessary tools to build, retain, and strengthen the capacity to build wealth.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $2,500,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for a grant to a nonprofit organization that is a
historically Black-owned and led institution that provides critical wealth education and
services, business technical support, professional development, and financial assistance to
invest in economic structures that educate, mobilize, and equip Black women with the
necessary tools to build, retain, and strengthen the capacity to build generational wealth.
This is a onetime appropriation.
