A bill for an act
relating to legislative enactments; providing for the expiration of policy provisions
in appropriation bills; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 16A.28,
subdivision 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 16A.28, subdivision 3, is amended to read:


Subd. 3.

and remaining unexpended and unencumbered at the close of a fiscal year lapses to the fund

at the close of a biennium lapse to the fund from which the appropriation was made.

may permanently add to or modify the statutory law of Minnesota Statutes. Any provision
of an appropriation bill that purports to do so expires at the end of the fiscal biennium in
which it is enacted.
