A bill for an act
relating to health; modifying a reporting requirement for reports of service by
qualified ambulance service personnel for the Cooper/Sams volunteer ambulance
program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin VERIFICATION AND CERTIFICATION OF QUALIFIED AMBULANCE
SERVICE PERSONNEL; COOPER/SAMS VOLUNTEER AMBULANCE
PROGRAM.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 144E.41, paragraph (e), the Emergency
Medical Services Regulatory Board shall accept, for purposes of determining credited
ambulance service for Minnesota Statutes, section 144E.46, verification of performance
and certification of service as ambulance attendants, ambulance drivers, ambulance service
medical directors, or medical advisors for persons for the reporting period of July 1, 2020,
to June 30, 2021, if the verification of performance and certification of service:

new text begin (1) was not submitted prior to the August 1, 2021, deadline for this reporting period;

new text begin (2) is submitted in a notarized affidavit to the Emergency Medical Services Regulatory
Board no later than August 1, 2022; and

new text begin (3) is submitted by the chief administrative officer of a city ambulance service that
provides basic life support services and is staffed with volunteers.
