  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to highways; extending consent requirement

  1.5             Statutes, chapter 161. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [161.178] [CERTAIN TOWNS TO CONSENT.] 
  1.8      (a) A town with a population of 2,500 or more according to 
  1.9   the most recent decennial federal census may exercise the powers 
  1.10  of a municipality under sections 161.172 to 161.177. 
  1.11     (b) The commissioner shall give notice and make submissions 
  1.12  relating to state trunk highways to a town described in 
  1.13  paragraph (a) as required under sections 161.172 to 161.177 as 
  1.14  if the town were a municipality under those sections.
