A bill for an act
relating to education; allowing charter schools that serve as online learning
providers and provide more than 50 percent of courses online to conduct board
meetings by telephone or other electronic means; amending Minnesota Statutes
2006, section 124D.10, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 124D.10, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin A charter school that is an
online learning provider under section 124D.095, subdivision 2, paragraph (b), and that
provides more than 50 percent of its courses online, consistent with section 124D.095,
may conduct board meetings by telephone or other electronic means, consistent with the
requirements for such meetings under section 129C.105.
