  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; providing funding for 
  1.3             development of farm marketing plan software; 
  1.4             appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; FARM MARKETING PLAN SOFTWARE.] 
  1.7      $200,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of agriculture for a grant to the Center for Farm 
  1.9   Financial Management at the University of Minnesota for purposes 
  1.10  of phase I and phase II of a comprehensive effort to develop 
  1.11  software and training materials to help farmers improve their 
  1.12  profitability through sophisticated marketing plans.  Phase I 
  1.13  consists of development of marketing plan software.  Phase II 
  1.14  will integrate marketing plan software with the existing FINPACK 
  1.15  farm management tools.  This appropriation is available until 
  1.16  June 30, 2001. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
