  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to taxation; providing that revenues from the 
  1.3             solid waste management tax be used for solid waste 
  1.4             management activities; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             1998, section 297H.13, subdivision 2. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 297H.13, 
  1.8   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2.  [ALLOCATION OF REVENUES.] (a) $22,000,000, or 50 
  1.10  percent, whichever is greater, of the amounts remitted under 
  1.11  this chapter must be credited to the solid waste fund 
  1.12  established in section 115B.42. 
  1.13     (b) The remainder must be deposited into the general fund 
  1.14  to be used for the administration of state and county programs 
  1.15  and functions related to recycling, reducing the quantity and 
  1.16  toxicity of solid waste, managing household and very small 
  1.17  quantity generator hazardous waste, and other similar programs 
  1.18  and activities.
