  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education finance; authorizing funding for 
  1.3             full-day kindergarten programs in independent school 
  1.4             district No. 482, Little Falls; appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [KINDERGARTEN FUNDING; LITTLE FALLS SCHOOL 
  1.7   DISTRICT.] 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [ELIGIBILITY.] Notwithstanding the 
  1.9   eligibility criteria under Minnesota Statutes, section 124D.081, 
  1.10  subdivision 3, any full-day kindergarten program operating 
  1.11  during the 1999-2000 school year in independent school district 
  1.12  No. 482, Little Falls, qualifies for revenue under that program 
  1.13  for fiscal years 2000 and later. 
  1.14     Subd. 2.  [APPROPRIATIONS; FISCAL YEARS 2000 AND 
  1.15  2001.] $300,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2001 from the 
  1.16  general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.17  learning to increase the appropriation for full-day kindergarten 
  1.18  under Laws 1999, chapter 241, article 2, section 60, subdivision 
  1.19  25, to accommodate the additional full-day kindergarten sites 
  1.20  qualified under section 1. 
  1.21     Subd. 3.  [APPROPRIATIONS; FISCAL YEARS 1998 AND 
  1.22  1999.] $300,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2001 from the 
  1.23  general fund to the commissioner of children, families, and 
  1.24  learning to reimburse independent school district No. 482, 
  1.25  Little Falls, for unreimbursed full-day kindergarten costs 
  2.1   associated with the district's kindergarten program for fiscal 
  2.2   years 1998 and 1999. 
  2.3      Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.4      Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
