  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to liquor; authorizing Springfield to 
  1.3             authorize a holder of an on-sale intoxicating liquor 
  1.4             license issued by the city to dispense intoxicating 
  1.5             liquor at an event on December 31, 2000, and January 
  1.6             1, 2001, at a facility owned by the city. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [CITY OF SPRINGFIELD; AUTHORIZATION.] 
  1.9      The city of Springfield may authorize a holder of a retail 
  1.10  on-sale intoxicating liquor license issued by the city to 
  1.11  dispense intoxicating liquor at an event on December 31, 2000, 
  1.12  and January 1, 2001, at a facility owned by the city, 
  1.13  notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 340A.504, 
  1.14  subdivision 3.  All provisions of Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.15  340A.404, subdivision 4, paragraph (a), apply to the authority 
  1.16  granted under this section. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body of 
  1.19  Springfield and its chief clerical officer timely complete their 
  1.20  compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, 
  1.21  subdivisions 2 and 3.
