  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to community development; providing funding 
  1.3             for the Neighborhood Development Center, Inc.; 
  1.4             appropriating money. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT CENTER, INC.] 
  1.7      $98,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2001 from the 
  1.8   general fund to the commissioner of trade and economic 
  1.9   development for a grant to the Neighborhood Development Center, 
  1.10  Inc.  The center shall use the grant for the purpose of 
  1.11  expanding and improving its neighborhood and ethnic-based 
  1.12  entrepreneur training, lending, and support programs in the 
  1.13  poorest communities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.  This 
  1.14  appropriation is a one-time appropriation and is not added to 
  1.15  the department's budget base.
