  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the MFIP child care program; amending 
  1.3             Minnesota Statutes 1999 Supplement, section 119B.05, 
  1.4             subdivision 1. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1999 Supplement, section 
  1.7   119B.05, subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS.] Families eligible 
  1.9   for child care assistance under the MFIP child care program are: 
  1.10     (1) MFIP participants who are employed or in job search and 
  1.11  meet the requirements of section 119B.10; 
  1.12     (2) persons who are members of transition year families 
  1.13  under section 119B.011, subdivision 20; 
  1.14     (3) families who are participating in employment 
  1.15  orientation or job search, or other employment or training 
  1.16  activities that are included in an approved employability 
  1.17  development plan under chapter 256K; 
  1.18     (4) MFIP families who are participating in work activities 
  1.19  as required in their job search support or employment plan, or 
  1.20  in appeals, hearings, assessments, or orientations according to 
  1.21  chapter 256J.  Child care assistance must be available to 
  1.22  support work activities as described in section 256J.49 must be 
  1.23  available according to sections 119B.011, subdivision 11, 
  1.24  124D.13, 256E.08, and 611A.32 and titles IVA, IVB, IVE, and XX 
  1.25  of the Social Security Act; and 
  2.1      (5) families who are participating in programs as required 
  2.2   in tribal contracts under section 119B.02, subdivision 2, or 
  2.3   256.01, subdivision 2.
