A bill for an act
relating to occupations and professions; requiring accreditation of subsurface
sewage treatment system training programs offered by private sponsors.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin ACCREDITATION OF TRAINING PROGRAMS FOR SEWAGE
TREATMENT SYSTEM PROFESSIONALS.

new text begin The commissioner of the Pollution Control Agency shall accredit at least six training
programs sponsored by private organizations or associations for basic, specialty area, or
continuing education training for subsurface sewage treatment system professionals. If an
insufficient number of private organizations or associations apply for accreditation or if
the applicants fail to meet the requirements for accreditation established under Minnesota
Rules, part 7083.1070, the commissioner shall work with private organizations and
associations to develop training programs that meet the accreditation requirements.
