  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to insurance; requiring that health coverage 
  1.3             include limited coverage for scalp hair prostheses for 
  1.4             cancer patients; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.5             section 62A.28, subdivision 2.  
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 62A.28, 
  1.8   subdivision 2, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2.  [REQUIRED COVERAGE.] Every policy, plan, 
  1.10  certificate, or contract referred to in subdivision 1 issued or 
  1.11  renewed after August 1, 1987, must provide coverage for scalp 
  1.12  hair prostheses worn for hair loss suffered as a result of 
  1.13  alopecia areata or as a result of radiation or chemotherapy 
  1.14  treatment for cancer or leukemia. 
  1.15     The coverage required by this section is subject to a 
  1.16  policy's copayment requirement and is limited to a maximum of 
  1.17  $350 in any benefit year, exclusive of any deductible.
