relating to workforce development; appropriating money for vocational education
grants.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
Section 1. new text begin VOCATIONAL EDUCATION GRANTS; APPROPRIATION.

$1,000,000 in fiscal year 2023 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of employment and economic development for grants of up to $5,000 to students enrolled
in vocational education programs that are able to be completed in two years or less. Grant
funds may be used to pay for education, training, tools, or licenses necessary to enter an
in-demand career field. This is a onetime appropriation.
