A bill for an act
relating to education; authorizing school districts to levy to pay costs attributable
to increases in employer contribution rates for pension plans; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 126C.41, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 126C.41, is amended by adding a
subdivision to read:

new text begin Levy authority for increased employer contribution rates for pension

new text begin A district may levy to pay any costs attributable to increases in employer
contribution rates or additional employer contribution rates under chapter 353 and in
employer contribution rates under chapter 354 or 354A that are effective after December
31, 2009.

new text begin This section is effective July 1, 2010, and shall apply to levies
payable in 2011 and thereafter.
