  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to labor; modifying a provision governing 
  1.3             exchange of information between the departments of 
  1.4             labor and industry and revenue; amending Minnesota 
  1.5             Statutes 1998, section 270B.14, subdivision 8. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 270B.14, 
  1.8   subdivision 8, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 8.  [EXCHANGE BETWEEN DEPARTMENTS OF LABOR AND 
  1.10  INDUSTRY AND REVENUE.] The departments of labor and industry and 
  1.11  revenue may exchange information as follows:  
  1.12     (1) data used in determining whether a business is an 
  1.13  employer or a contracting agent; 
  1.14     (2) taxpayer identity information relating to employers and 
  1.15  employees for purposes of supporting tax administration and 
  1.16  chapter 176; and 
  1.17     (3) data to the extent provided in and for the purpose set 
  1.18  out in section 176.181, subdivision 8.
