  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; appropriating money for 
  1.3             continued, temporary operation of state government. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATIONS.] 
  1.6      (a) Effective July 1, 2001, amounts sufficient to continue 
  1.7   the operation of state government through July 31, 2001, as 
  1.8   determined by the commissioner of finance, are appropriated from 
  1.9   the appropriate fund or account in the state treasury to each 
  1.10  unit of state government or other entity that received 
  1.11  appropriations from the state for June 2001, as a result of 
  1.12  money appropriated in Laws 1999, chapters 205, 214, 216, 223, 
  1.13  231, 238, 241, 245, and 250; and Laws 2000, chapter 488. 
  1.14     (b) The amounts appropriated must be sufficient, but not 
  1.15  exceed the amounts needed, to continue the operation of 
  1.16  government at base level as it existed in June 2001.  
  1.17  Determination of amounts may be made on a proration of annual 
  1.18  appropriations or another reasonable basis.  The appropriations 
  1.19  must not include appropriations in the acts specified in 
  1.20  paragraph (a) that are designated as one-time appropriations or 
  1.21  are one-time in nature.  This requirement does not affect 
  1.22  standing appropriations that are annually appropriated by 
  1.23  statute.
