  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to food; requiring bottled water 
  1.3             manufacturers to make certain information available; 
  1.4             proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.5             chapter 31. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [31.111] [BOTTLED WATER INFORMATION.] 
  1.8      Bottled water may not be sold in this state unless the 
  1.9   bottled water manufacturer provides a toll-free telephone number 
  1.10  and Web site address with information on: 
  1.11     (1) the source of the water used to manufacture the bottled 
  1.12  water; 
  1.13     (2) the level of any regulated contaminants in the source 
  1.14  water used; 
  1.15     (3) any purification process used to treat the source 
  1.16  water; and 
  1.17     (4) the company's compliance with applicable state and 
  1.18  federal standards. 
  1.19  Each container of bottled water sold must include the toll-free 
  1.20  telephone number and Web site address on the label.
