A bill for an act
relating to local government; providing for town meeting minutes; amending
Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 365.55.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 365.55, is amended to read:


365.55 TOWN CLERK IS MEETING CLERK; MINUTES TO BE FILED.

The town clerk is clerk of the town meeting and shall keep full minutes of its
proceedings. The minutes must contain the full text of every order, direction, and rule
made by the meeting. If the town clerk is absent, the voters present shall elect a clerk of
the meeting. The minutes of the meeting must be signed by the clerknew text begin and the moderatornew text end of
the meeting deleted text begin and by the judgesdeleted text end .new text begin If the town clerk is elected as moderator, the minutes must
also be signed by a supervisor in attendance at the meeting.

the office of the town clerk within two days after the meeting.
