1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to capital improvements; authorizing spending 1.3 to acquire and to better public land and buildings and 1.4 other public improvements of a capital nature with 1.5 certain conditions; authorizing the sale of state 1.6 bonds; appropriating money. 1.7 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.8 Section 1. [CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT APPROPRIATIONS.] 1.9 The sums in the column under "APPROPRIATIONS" are 1.10 appropriated from the bond proceeds fund, or another named fund, 1.11 to the state agencies or officials indicated, to be spent for 1.12 public purposes including to acquire and to better public land 1.13 and buildings and other public improvements of a capital nature, 1.14 as specified in this act. PUBLIC SAFETY 60,000,000 2.16 To the commissioner of administration 2.17 to construct, furnish, and equip a new 2.18 building for the bureau of criminal 2.19 apprehension, including offices and 2.20 forensic laboratories, in the city of 2.21 St. Paul. 2.22 Sec. 4. BOND SALE EXPENSES 775,000 2.23 To the commissioner of finance for bond 2.24 sale expenses under Minnesota Statutes, 2.25 section 16A.641, subdivision 8. This 2.26 appropriation is from the bond proceeds 2.27 fund. 2.28 Sec. 5. [BOND SALE.] 2.29 To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond 2.30 proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance shall sell and issue 2.31 bonds of the state in an amount up to $80,891,000 in the manner, 2.32 upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota 2.33 Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota 2.34 Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7. 2.35 Sec. 6. [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 2.36 This act is effective the day following final enactment.
