1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to government data practices; classifying 1.3 certain housing and real property benefit data; 1.4 amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 13.462, 1.5 subdivision 2. 1.6 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.7 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 13.462, 1.8 subdivision 2, is amended to read: 1.9 Subd. 2. [PUBLIC DATA.] The names and addresses of 1.10 applicants for and recipients of benefits, aid, or assistance 1.11 through programs administered by any political subdivision, 1.12 state agency, or statewide system that are intended to assist 1.13 with the purchaseof, rehabilitation, or other purposes related 1.14 to housing or other real property are classified as public data 1.15 on individuals. If an applicant or recipient is a corporation, 1.16 the names and addresses of the officers of the corporation are 1.17 public data on individuals. If an applicant or recipient is a 1.18 partnership, the names and addresses of the partners are public 1.19 data on individuals. The amount or value of benefits, aid, or 1.20 assistance received is public data.
