A bill for an act
relating to health; requiring disclosure of contracts between health plan
companies and hospitals; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 62J.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Beginning January 1, 2009, and each year thereafter, each health plan company shall
submit to the commissioner of health a copy of all contracts entered into and in effect
for that year between the health plan company and a hospital licensed under chapter
144 to provide health care services to the enrollees of the health plan company. The
commissioner shall make these contracts available to the public, upon request.
