A bill for an act
relating to education; modifying board requirements for the Minnesota State
Academies; amending Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 125A.62, subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2018, section 125A.62, subdivision 1, is amended to read:


Subdivision 1.

Governance.

must promote academic standards based on high expectation and an assessment system to
measure academic performance toward the achievement of those standards. The board must

support deaf, deafblind, hard-of-hearing, blind, and visually impaired students statewide

new text begin (ii) are not employed by the Minnesota State Academies;

new text begin (iii) do not have a child enrolled in the school; and

education;

new text begin (3) two parents or legal guardians, not employed by the school, who have a student
currently enrolled in the school;
