relating to natural resources; appropriating money for a report on cattail control.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; CATTAIL CONTROL REPORT.

new text begin $10,000 in fiscal year 2015 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of natural resources to prepare a report in consultation with the University of Minnesota
and the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities containing recommendations on how to
address the spread of narrow-leaved and hybrid cattails and requests by municipalities and
others for additional control options. The commissioner must submit the report to the chairs
and ranking minority members of the house of representatives and senate committees and
divisions with jurisdiction over the environment and natural resources by January 15, 2015.
