A bill for an act
relating to transportation; capital investment; appropriating money for highway
safety improvements in Dakota County; authorizing the sale and issuance of state
bonds.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $15,000,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds
fund to the commissioner of transportation for a grant to Dakota County to improve safety
at the intersection of County State-Aid Highway 66 and marked Trunk Highway 52 in
Vermillion Township. This appropriation includes money for construction of an interchange
in the vicinity of County State-Aid Highway 66 and County State-Aid Highway 62 to
eliminate the current intersections and improve safety. The new interchange will include a
bridge at marked Trunk Highway 52 with ramps connecting the county road and additional
highway improvements to address changes to property access and meet current design
standards. This project is proposed in collaboration with the Minnesota Department of
Transportation.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated in this section from the bond
proceeds fund, the commissioner of management and budget shall sell and issue bonds of
the state in an amount up to $15,000,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the effect
prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota
Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7.
