A bill for an act
relating to energy; prohibiting cost recovery for certain solar energy projects;
proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 216B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

PROJECTS.

new text begin The commission is prohibited from allowing an electric utility to recover through utility
rates the costs of a project to generate solar energy that is owned by the electric utility or
included in a power purchase agreement for solar-generated energy entered into by the
electric utility, unless the electric utility demonstrates to the commission's satisfaction that
no child labor was used to manufacture the solar panels generating the electricity.
