  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to natural resources; providing for 
  1.3             acquisition and development of land for dog field 
  1.4             trials; amending Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 
  1.5             84.029, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1998, section 84.029, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3.  [ACQUISITION OF LAND FOR DOG FIELD TRIALS.] The 
  1.10  commissioner may acquire and improve land for the primary 
  1.11  purpose of conducting organized field trials of dogs.  The land 
  1.12  may be acquired by gift, lease, easement, or purchase.  The 
  1.13  commissioner may allow other compatible activities such as 
  1.14  hunting, camping, or other outdoor recreation as deemed 
  1.15  appropriate on this land.
