A bill for an act
relating to capital improvements; authorizing spending to acquire and better
public land and buildings and other public improvements of a capital nature;
authorizing the issuance of general obligation bonds; appropriating money for
Veterans Home Board projects.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; VETERANS HOME BOARD PROJECTS.

new text begin (a) $35,090,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the commissioner of
administration for the projects of the Veterans Home Board in this section.

new text begin (b) $2,261,000 is for the Minneapolis Veterans Home to design, remodel, furnish,
and equip building 4 on the Minneapolis campus for an adult day care program for
veterans in the metropolitan area.

new text begin (c) $4,851,000 is for the Silver Bay Veterans Home to design, renovate, furnish,
and equip existing space and to design, construct, furnish, and equip an addition to the
nursing care facility.

new text begin (d) $7,699,000 is for the Fergus Falls Veterans Home to design, construct, furnish,
and equip a 21-bed special care unit.

new text begin (e) $20,104,000 is for the Minneapolis Veterans Home to design, construct, furnish,
and equip a 45 unit assisted living facility, and to design, renovate, furnish, and equip
building 16 for relocation of the domiciliary program.

new text begin (f) $175,000 is for the Minneapolis Veterans Home for predesign of phase 3 of
the master plan for skilled nursing care.

Sec. 2. new text begin BOND SALE.

new text begin To provide the money appropriated by section 1, from the bond proceeds fund,
the commissioner of finance shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount up to
$35,090,000 in the manner, on the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota
Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI,
sections 4 to 7.
