A bill for an act
 relating to appropriations; appropriating money to Ramsey County to plan and
design renovations at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION FOR GILLETTE CHILDREN'S SPECIALTY
HEALTHCARE.

new text begin $500,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2009 from the general fund to the
commissioner of administration for a grant to Ramsey County to plan and design
renovations for surgical suites and the pediatric intensive care unit at Gillette Children's
Specialty Healthcare, which until 1989 was a state institution housed in a state building
that served the medical needs of children with disabilities. This appropriation is not
available until the commissioner of finance has determined that at least $500,000 has been
committed by nonstate sources.
