A bill for an act
 relating to game and fish; authorizing an earlier open season in certain areas for
spearing fish; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 97C.371, subdivision 4.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 97C.371, subdivision 4, is amended to read:


Subd. 4.

Open season.

The open season for spearing through the ice is December 1
to the last Sunday in Februarynew text begin , except the commissioner may allow for an earlier open
season start north of Highway 2 when weather conditions warrant one and public safety
considerations are followednew text end .
