  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; authorizing state 
  1.3             bonds; appropriating money to restore Fort Snelling 
  1.4             Building No. 17 for adaptive reuse as the Fort 
  1.5             Snelling International Hostel. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.8      $4,425,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to 
  1.9   the Minnesota historical society to restore Fort Snelling 
  1.10  Building No. 17 for adaptive reuse as the Fort Snelling 
  1.11  International Hostel.  Hostelling International of Minnesota 
  1.12  must enter into a lease to operate the hostel.  State operating 
  1.13  funds must not be used for the operation and maintenance of the 
  1.14  hostel. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.16     To provide the money appropriated in this act from the bond 
  1.17  proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance, on request of the 
  1.18  governor, shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an amount 
  1.19  up to $4,425,000 in the manner, upon the terms, and with the 
  1.20  effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 
  1.21  16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 
  1.22  4 to 7. 
  1.23     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.24     Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  1.25  enactment.
