  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to agriculture; requiring the board of animal 
  1.3             health to modify a certain rule.  
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [REQUIRED RULE CHANGE; ADMINISTRATION OF 
  1.6   ANTHRAX VACCINE TO LIVESTOCK.] 
  1.7      No later than August 1, 2002, the board of animal health 
  1.8   shall initiate proceedings to amend Minnesota Rules, parts 
  1.9   1720.0580 to 1720.0640, and other applicable rules, to eliminate 
  1.10  the requirement that only a licensed veterinarian is allowed to 
  1.11  administer anthrax vaccine to livestock.  The rules may retain 
  1.12  provisions that anthrax vaccine may be acquired only as 
  1.13  prescribed by a licensed veterinarian. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
