  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to veterans; authorizing the placement of a 
  1.3             plaque on the capitol grounds recognizing the service 
  1.4             of Minnesota's members of the merchant marine during 
  1.5             World War II. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [PLAQUE HONORING MINNESOTA'S MEMBERS OF THE 
  1.8   MERCHANT MARINE.] 
  1.9      A memorial plaque recognizing Minnesota's members of the 
  1.10  merchant marine who served during World War II may be placed in 
  1.11  the court of honor on the capitol grounds.  The plaque must be 
  1.12  furnished by a person or organization other than the department 
  1.13  of veterans affairs and approved by the commissioner of veterans 
  1.14  affairs and the capitol area architectural and planning board. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
