  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; authorizing bonds 
  1.3             and appropriating money for maintenance and repairs on 
  1.4             the campuses of Minnesota veterans homes. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION AND ALLOCATION.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] $13,427,000 is 
  1.8   appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the veterans home 
  1.9   board for the purposes specified in this section. 
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [HASTINGS VETERANS HOME.] $7,084,000 is for the 
  1.11  replacement of tunnels and the upgrading of three buildings at 
  1.12  the campus of the Hastings veterans home. 
  1.13     Subd. 3.  [MINNEAPOLIS VETERANS HOME.] $1,750,000 is for 
  1.14  replacement of a water main, installation of a freight elevator, 
  1.15  upgrading of nursing stations, replacement of a roof, campus 
  1.16  security improvements, and exterior stucco repair at the campus 
  1.17  of the Minneapolis veterans home.  
  1.18     Subd. 4.  [ASSET PRESERVATION.] $4,000,000 is for 46 asset 
  1.19  preservation projects at the campuses of the Fergus Falls, 
  1.20  Hastings, Luverne, Minneapolis, and Silver Bay veterans homes. 
  1.21     Subd. 5.  [SILVER BAY VETERANS HOME.] $593,000 is for 
  1.22  construction of a maintenance shop and storage facility at the 
  1.23  campus of the Silver Bay veterans home. 
  1.24     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.25     To provide the money appropriated by section 1, the 
  2.1   commissioner of finance, on request of the governor, shall sell 
  2.2   and issue bonds in an amount up to $13,427,000 in the manner, 
  2.3   upon the terms, and with the effect prescribed by Minnesota 
  2.4   Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 16A.675, and by the Minnesota 
  2.5   Constitution, article XI, sections 4 to 7. 
  2.6      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.7      Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  2.8   enactment.
