A bill for an act
relating to Hennepin County; modifying requirements for financial statements
and audits; amending Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 383B.119, subdivisions
1, 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 383B.119, subdivision 1, is amended to
read:


Subdivision 1.

Financial statements.

of section 375.17, subdivision 1
new text end , the board of commissioners shall cause to be prepared
a financial report, including financial statements for all of the funds of the county of
Hennepin prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Sec. 2.

Minnesota Statutes 2010, section 383B.119, subdivision 3, is amended to read:


Subd. 3.

Publication and distribution.

deleted text begin The board of commissioners shall publish
the annual financial statements in accordance with the requirements of section 375.17.

new text begin Notwithstanding the requirements of section 375.17, subdivision 3, the board shall publish
annual financial statements in a qualified newspaper of general circulation in the county
or on the county's Web site. If the county posts the financial statement on the county's
Web site, it must be easily identifiable to the general public and the county must maintain
it there for at least 12 months from the date of the initial posting or until a more recent
financial statement is published on the Web site.
