A bill for an act
relating to human services; providing a grant for a culturally specific food shelf
in the east metro; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; CULTURALLY SPECIFIC FOOD SHELF.

new text begin $100,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $100,000 in fiscal year 2021 are appropriated from the
general fund to the commissioner of human services to provide a grant to an organization
that provides emergency services and referrals for American Indian families and operates
a culturally specific food shelf on the east side of the seven-county metropolitan area. Grant
funds must be used for the food shelf to purchase, transport, and coordinate the distribution
of nutritious food to needy individuals and families.
