A bill for an act
relating to agriculture; excluding certain fish-raising facilities from certain
licensing requirements; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 97C.211,
subdivision 1.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 97C.211, subdivision 1, is amended to read:


Subdivision 1.

License required.

A person may not operate a private fish hatchery
without a private fish hatchery license. A private fish hatchery is a facility for raising fish,
including minnows, for sale, stocking waters, angling, or processingnew text begin , except a facility that
raises fish only in artificial ponds or tanks or both
new text end . A private fish hatchery license is valid
for five years but must be renewed annually.
