A bill for an act
relating to transportation; prohibiting certain passengers in the bed of a pickup
truck; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 169.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [169.432] PASSENGERS IN PICKUP TRUCK BED.

new text begin (a) No person may operate a pickup truck, as defined in section 168.011, subdivision
29, while a person under the age of 18 is located in the bed or cargo area of the vehicle.

new text begin (b) This section does not apply if (1) the vehicle is being used for farm work, or (2)
the vehicle is participating in a parade that has been granted a permit or other official
authorization by a local unit of government.
