  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to higher education; authorizing Board of 
  1.3             Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities 
  1.4             to sell surplus land; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             2002, section 136F.60, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 136F.60, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 5.  [DISPOSITION OF SURPLUS PROPERTY.] (a) The board 
  1.10  may declare state lands under its control that are no longer 
  1.11  needed by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system 
  1.12  to be surplus and may offer for public sale or otherwise dispose 
  1.13  of such lands in a manner consistent with the procedures set 
  1.14  forth in sections 94.10 to 94.14 for disposition of state lands 
  1.15  by the commissioner of administration. 
  1.16     (b) Proceeds from the sale or disposition of land under 
  1.17  this subdivision, after paying all expenses incurred in selling 
  1.18  or disposing of the land and then paying any amounts due under 
  1.19  section 16A.695, shall be appropriated to the board.
