A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; authorizing the acquisition of certain lands for
Lake Vermilion State Park; incorporating lands from an existing state park into
Lake Vermilion State Park; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 85.012,
subdivision 53a.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin LAND ACQUISITION; LAKE VERMILION STATE PARK.

new text begin Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the commissioner of natural resources may
pay up to $18,000,000 for lands within the boundaries of Lake Vermilion State Park,
established under Laws 2008, chapter 368, article 3, section 2, subdivision 3.

new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE. new text end

new text begin This section is effective the day following final enactment.

Sec. 2. new text begin INCORPORATION OF EXISTING PARK LAND; LAKE VERMILION
STATE PARK.

new text begin All lands within the boundaries of Soudan Underground Mine State Park as it exists
on the effective date of this section and that have been acquired for park purposes are
incorporated into and made part of Lake Vermilion State Park.

Sec. 3. new text begin REVISOR'S INSTRUCTION.
new text end

new text begin In the next issue of the Minnesota Statutes, the revisor of statutes shall incorporate
the statutory history of Soudan Underground Mine State Park under the listing for Lake
Vermilion State Park, as provided in Minnesota Statutes, section 85.012, subdivision 38a.
