A bill for an act
relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money for television
programming commemorating the sesquicentennial of the American Civil War
and the Dakota Conflict.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin $50,000 is appropriated in fiscal year 2013 from the arts and cultural heritage fund
to the commissioner of administration for a grant to the Minnesota Public Television
Association to complete production of two historic documentaries on the American
Civil War and the Dakota Conflict and to develop an educational Web site that provides
Minnesota educators and students with access to documentary content, video segments,
and lesson guides. Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 129D.17, subdivision 2,
paragraph (f), the Minnesota Public Television Association may spend a portion of this
appropriation for travel and filming outside of Minnesota.
