  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Washington county; authorizing the 
  1.3             electronic processing of certain motor vehicle 
  1.4             registration renewals; authorizing an additional fee 
  1.5             for accepting payment by credit card. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [ELECTRONIC VEHICLE REGISTRATION RENEWALS; 
  1.8   CREDIT CARD FEE.] 
  1.9      Notwithstanding other law, under its authority in Minnesota 
  1.10  Statutes, sections 373.32 and 373.33, Washington county may 
  1.11  electronically process motor vehicle registration renewals by 
  1.12  itself, or through its agent or contractor, and may impose an 
  1.13  additional fee for accepting payment by credit card for the 
  1.14  vehicle registration tax under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.15  168.013 and the filing fee under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.16  168.33.  The additional fee must be deposited in a separate 
  1.17  account in the county treasury for disposition by the county.
