  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to family law; providing for parenting time 
  1.3             in certain cases; proposing coding for new law in 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes, chapter 518. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [518.174] [RIGHT TO PARENTING TIME.] 
  1.7      In a custody proceeding under this chapter, a parent must 
  1.8   be granted parenting time with the parent's child if there has 
  1.9   not been a finding that parenting time with the parent is likely 
  1.10  to endanger the child's physical or emotional health or impair 
  1.11  the child's development.  The parenting time must commence 
  1.12  within two weeks of the time the custody proceeding is 
  1.13  commenced.  The court may require supervision or other 
  1.14  limitations authorized under section 518.175.  The parent 
  1.15  seeking parenting time and any guardian ad litem for the child 
  1.16  may jointly petition the court to grant parenting time under 
  1.17  this section. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.19     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
