relating to education; developing suicide prevention policies; proposing coding
for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 121A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [121A.24] SCHOOL SUICIDE PREVENTION POLICIES.

new text begin School districts are encouraged to consult with the Department of Health to develop
comprehensive suicide prevention policies that include protocols for students who are at
risk of suicide or who attempt suicide at school, teacher and staff training, student and parent
education, and responses to the suicide of a student or other member of the school
community.
