relating to capital investment; requiring landscaping related to state-funded capital
projects to be pollinator friendly; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 16B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [16B.315] POLLINATOR-FRIENDLY LANDSCAPING.

new text begin Landscaping work that is related to a state-funded capital improvement project, whether
paid for in whole or in part with state money, must follow best management practices to
protect pollinators and provide an appropriate diversity of native species selected to provide
habitat for pollinators throughout the growing season.
