A bill for an act
relating to education; requiring statewide P-16 education partnerships to include
legislators.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin P-16 EDUCATION PARTNERSHIPS TO INCLUDE LEGISLATORS.

new text begin Any voluntary statewide P-16 education partnership established to develop
recommendations for collaboratively improving Minnesota students' transition to college
and work readiness, among other P-16 initiatives, must include at least one legislator
who is a member of the house majority party appointed by the speaker of the house, one
legislator who is a member of the house minority party appointed by the house minority
leader, one legislator who is a member of the senate majority party appointed by the
senate majority leader, and one legislator who is a member of the senate minority party
appointed by the senate minority leader.
