  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to alcoholic beverages; exempting an on-sale 
  1.3             intoxicating liquor license in Bemidji from statutory 
  1.4             restrictions on proximity to a state university; 
  1.5             amending Laws 1999, chapter 202, section 15. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 1999, chapter 202, section 15, is amended 
  1.8   to read: 
  1.9      Sec. 15.  [CITY OF BEMIDJI; LIQUOR LICENSE.] 
  1.10     The city of Bemidji may issue one on-sale intoxicating 
  1.11  liquor license in addition to the number authorized by law.  All 
  1.12  provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 340A, not inconsistent 
  1.13  with this section, other than Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.14  340A.412, subdivision 4, clause (8), apply to the licenses 
  1.15  license authorized under this section. 
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE; LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body of 
  1.18  Bemidji and its chief clerical officer timely complete their 
  1.19  compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 645.021, 
  1.20  subdivisions 2 and 3.
